Safety Compliance Overview

Quest Beads requires that its suppliers provide high quality pewter alloy that is lead and cadmium compliant, containing minuscule amounts of lead, in levels of less than 100ppm (100 parts per million or .01%) and cadmium in levels of less than 300ppm (or .03%). These low levels comply with the standards set forth under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

Lead and cadmium testing is conducted by an independent laboratory on a regular basis. These results are available upon request. We post a general certificate of compliance on our website, which can be used for your records.

Be advised that current Federal law for lead and cadmium content in children's jewelry is being challenged in many states. Although Quest Beads manufactures with top quality, compliant pewter alloy, and tests on a regular basis, we will not guarantee that our product meets the ever-changing criterion for children's jewelry.

If you are preparing finished product for children 12 years and younger, and wish to certify your product is lead and/or cadmium compliant, we recommend that you also test for lead and cadmium content.
